Time to walk the walk.

All the outrage in the world won’t make any difference if we don’t get voters to the polls in November.  And you lovely readers on dailyKos, aren’t enough.

Its 9:38PM now in Arizona, so I’m blogging and not walking.  But blogging isn’t going to get us there.  Walking might.

Studies show that the biggest factor in whether a sometimes-voter votes, is if they talk to someone in person the weekend before the election, especially someone in their own social network or neighborhood.  Postcards have a statistically significant impact as well.

You can use the Minivan 7 app to find your hyperlocal voter list, or contact your local Democratic Party headquarters for a slice of the VAN.  In Arizona, we are trying to sign people up to vote early, on what is called the PEVL, or Permanent Early Voting List.  Not clear if its causation or correlation, but people signed up to vote early are about 30% more reliable voters.  Here in Arizona we have until Oct 8 to get the PEVLs turned in, and we can turn them in for people.

I can’t rest thinking about how important this November is.  If the republicans manage to keep control of the house, I feel like they will shut down the Mueller investigation and start censoring the Internet using the big telecoms.  Seriously.  I think they are holding back now because they want to win this election, but if they do, all bets are off and they are going to cheat like crazy.  The house is going to be down the wire, and we need every swing district we can.

If you are in a blue state, check out http://sisterdistrict.com to sign up to help a purple one.

And if you are in a purple one like me, well, walking is really good exercise.  It will strengthen your heart so you can handle the next few years...
